RIFLE MARKSMAN'S HOME RANGE:  Georgia Mountain Shooting Association in the beautiful North Georgia Mountains. Here are a few hotel suggestions near GMSA. Lavonia, GA may have the best options off of I-85, exit 173 on Hwy 17.
The 2 day Rifle Marksman covers the crucial fundamentals of marksmanship that allow the shooter to use the accuracy of the rifle to its fullest capability. The rifle is an iconic tool for Americans. Unfortunately, modern life does not lend itself to hunting and plinking like the decades before we became city dwellers. The essential skills of shooting a rifle well should be the goal of every owner. The idea of being a marksmen, is someone who is excellent at shooting a gun, be it a pistol or rifle. This class is for the armed citizen that sees a need for the ability to shoot their chosen rifle with skill. Just the essential skills that an citizen would need in the time of gravest extreme.

This 2 day class will cover zeroing the rifle and the effects of distance on the chosen zero. Shooting from different positions, cover, and in addition the effects of offset from different sighting systems. The crucial fundamentals of marksmanship that allow the shooter to use the accuracy of the rifle to its fullest capability. This class will will use paper and steel targets to cover zeroing the rifle and the effects of distance place on the chosen zero. Shooting from different positions, cover, and in addition the effects of offset from different sighting systems. There will be a scored TOP SHOT and other challenges. Your Certificate of Participation will be handed out or emailed. ​

IF YOU ALREADY HAVE THIS KNOWLEDGE, please zero your rifle before class. A 50 yard or 100 yard will serve you well. If 25 yards is all you have available, then please zero at 25 yards and we will adjust at class. YOUR GOAL at 25, 50 or 100: just make sure you are on "paper" and we can refine your zero on the range. Remember zeros will change with ammo types and weights. Either shoot the same type ammo or know the difference between the two.

Please understand that our "Ant Rank Challenges" do not apply in our Rifle Marksman class. There will be a scored TOP SHOT and other challenges. Your Certificate of Participation will be handed out or emailed.

2 Day Rifle Marksman
  • 2 Day Rifle Marksman is very popular to host and is one of our most popular classes offered at home. 
  • RIFLE MARKSMAN'S HOME RANGE: $399 per person in the North GA Mountains 
  • RIFLE MARKSMAN'S HOME RANGE: $319 alumni in the North GA Mountains 
  • RIFLE MARKSMAN'S HOME RANGE: $299 active LEO and Military in the North GA Mountains
  • You will register/pay for courses online. Keep the receipt, this is your first confirmation.  Your second and official confirmation from me will arrive via email about a week prior to class (check your SPAM).
  • 9am-6:00pm 
  • Arrive at 8:30am to complete waivers and registration. 
  • RIFLE MARKSMAN'S HOME RANGE: The gate MAY be closed, just wait for someone to let you in. You CAN park around the clubhouse or down by the ranges in the "circle" . You CAN drive to the 50 Yard Range, drop off your gear, and then go park.
  • Meet at the 50 yard range. There will be a TCC SIGN at that range.​​

  • IF YOU ALREADY HAVE THIS KNOWLEDGE, please make sure you have whatever tools you need to adjust your sights. Same for optics, in addition make sure you have the manual or specifications for the adjustments for the optics. Some are MOA (minute of angle) and some are Mils (Milliradians).
  • A sturdy belt for rifle magazine pouch (try your gear on prior to class)
  • Extra magazines. We recommend 3 for this class if possible
  • Eye & ear protection (foam inserts or muffs – electronic muffs recommended)
  • Proper OUTDOOR weather attire​
  • Hat with bill.... this is WHY!
  • Sunblock and bug spray (as needed)
  • 1 Gallon of hydration and a sack lunch (30-45 minute lunch) per day
  • OPTIONAL: Binoculars or spotting scope. 
  • OPTIONAL: Bipod and bag are useful. 
  • OPTIONAL: You MAY wear pistol during this Rifle Essentials class. This is NOT a pistol class BUT there may be an option to transition to pistol. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Skill Level: 
  • This class will require you to have safe gun handling skills
  • You need to be able to follow directions from our coaches
  • You need to have a basic understanding of your rifle and have used it during practice sessions.
