Learn to draW

Training Schedule & Register for class
Learn to Draw is The Complete Combatant's 3 hour class focusing on presenting your firearm from the holster while always practicing your FUNDAMENTALS as they are the key to everything!
  • 3 Hour Clinic
  • $89 per person

This class is taught by Shelley Hill or Harriett Williams and can be your "next step" in training after you have taken an Entry Level Pistol Essentials class, basics class from another instructor, new shooter class, safety class with live fire, and the like.

YES! If you would like some experience drawing from your OFF BODY bag, we can make that happen. Please bring your bag and at the end of each Learn to Draw class, we will invite you to stay for another 15-30 minutes. This will be just enough time to get your "feet wet" regarding off body techniques. I promise you, it is not as easy as it looks so after your mini intro lesson, feel free to schedule a private lesson with your coach.

The most important part for the armed citizen is to quickly access their weapon and make accurate shots.
  • Concealment is the essential advantage that the armed citizen has in personal protection. Clearing your cover garment if applicable
  • Learn, or revisit, the four positions of the draw, how to safely draw, and how to holster your firearm.
  • Different holster positions
  • Getting a good firing grip
  • Open discussion on some of the popular holsters and their PROS & CONS
  • Using proper body mechanics to align the pistol for quick sight alignment
  • Dry practice
  • Live practice
  • Safe gun handling
  • Holstering safely
Skill Level:
  • This class will require you to have safe gun handling skills
  • You need to be able to follow directions from our coaches
  • You need to have a basic understanding of your firearms and have used it during practice sessions.
  • Understand the 4 firearm safety rules
  • Be able to load and unload your firearm
  • You have attended a "basic" firearms safety class and have shot at least 50 rounds.
Please make note that if you do not meet these qualifications then NO WORRIES, register for our ENTRY Level Pistol Essentials class and we will get you ready for this next step.
Gear List:
  • Pistol w/holster (strong side, inside, outside waistband or appendix is fine).
  • Holsters that collapse (leather, soft, etc.) when drawn will NOT be allowed on our range. NO SERPA HOLSTERS will be allowed on our range. THIS IS WHY!
  • Please make note that if you show up with any of the above, we will ask you to CHANGE so you can comply with our range rules. If you do not have a back up gun then you can borrow one of our firearms with a Kydex holster. NO CHARGE! Ammo not included
  • Want to borrow an HK with a Holosun optic to train with while you are here? We got cha covered at NO CHARGE! We will also supply an appendix holster. Please specify if you are right of left handed when you reserve this.
  • Concealment garment required. MAY or MAY not work with it.
  • Don't forget your LockedIn Grip Liquid Shooting Sports Chalk.
  • This is a holster class for shooters that are "new" to the concept. Student levels will vary so some students may, or may not, use a cover garment....this is up to the coaches. Please bring one!
  • There MAY be a $20-25 CASH per day "range/facility" fee. This will depend on the location. Just bring $25 cash per day so you are covered. We will collect this when you finish registration the morning of class.
  • Holster: Appendix? Any loose shirt that fully conceals your firearm can be used as a cover garment
  • Holster: Hip or strong side? Loose button down shirt OVER a tucked in t-shirt can be used as a cover garment
  • We do not recommend carrying your firearm in other positions unless there is a valid reason. Open to discuss.
  • 50 rounds of factory loaded ammunition (we will shoot 25-50 rounds)
  • Magazine pouch (if none don’t worry pockets work well)
  • A sturdy belt for the holster and magazine pouches (try your gear on prior to class)
  • Extra magazines: Double Stack x 2 mags and Single stack x 2 or more mags
  • Eye & ear protection (foam inserts or muffs – electronic muffs recommended)
  • "Back up” gun if you got it. If not, we will have a HK VP9 waiting for you to use
  • Proper OUTDOOR weather attire
  • Hat with bill.... this is WHY!
  • Sunblock and bug spray (as needed)
  • Hydration and snack
Closing:
We will finish classes with a few words from your coaches, Certificates of Participation (or emailed), and hand out White Ant Rank Patches.
