Harriett is an amazing part of The Complete Combatant's team. For over 20 years Harriett has worked in the telecommunications industry as a support specialist. Harriett used her attention to detail and analytical skills to find and resolve issues her customers experienced. Her ability to quickly assess the situation, and work to a resolution has served her customers well. Asking pertinent questions to gather the needed information, and assessing her customers level of understanding allowed her to not only solve issues but teach her customers in the process. She is using the skills she developed over the years to enhance her firearms training, whether it is in training she is taking or when she is introducing others to firearms.
Although a Veteran, Harriett did not fully start her journey into the firearms world until 2014. Starting with the NRA's Women on Target, Harriett learned she had a great passion for shooting and sought out opportunities to learn more and increase her skills. Since then she has competed in pistol, rifle, and 3-gun matches across the US with much success.
Harriett also learn along the way that her passion included introducing others to the joys of shooting. To that end, she pursued and achieved several Instructor certifications, and formed the Stephens County chapter of A Girl and A Gun. She put her passion to work with her ever present cheerful and optimistic attitude to bring other ladies into the firearms world. In addition, seeing a need for training in the sport of 3-Gun competitions, Harriett created the 3-Gun Fun Camp, a 3-day training event for ladies to learn about all things involved in 3-Gun competitions.
Harriett is one of our Assistant Instructors, Range Safety Officers, helps out with social media, is an absolute JOY to be around, and will be handling range admin duties. She believes in training and practicing via live fire and good decision making. She love to train and feels that practicing for self defense and competition can be fun and rewarding. She looks forward to being a part of your journey.
Harriett is the Treasurer & Secretary of a 501c3 nonprofit organization, Blue Line Ponies, Inc. Blue Line Ponies is a retirement range (we now have 2 locations in North Georgia) dedicated to our country's service horses. This usually includes Mounted Patrol Unit, police horses, prison horses, search & rescue, and border patrol horses. These mature horse age out or are retired due to "lameness" and can easily end up in a kill pen, an abusive home where they are worked until they collapse, or are sold over and over again and are never truly "retired". Blue Line Ponies mission is to love, safeguard the dignity and comfort of our hard working ponies and to continue to provide the best care throughout their retirement. They worked tirelessly working with their human partners and they deserve nothing but the best.
Why did they name it Blue Line Ponies? Good question! The "thin blue line" is a term that typically refers to the concept of the police as the line which keeps society from descending into violent chaos. The "blue" in "thin blue line" refers to the blue color of the uniforms of many police departments. They chose this name because it represents both police and police ponies, and the ideals of justice and freedom.
