Learning to draw

Brian will occasionally use "Coaches Eye" during this style of training. Coach's Eye is the most effective way to provide meaningful feedback to his students, so we can make rapid improvements. He can analyze your draw with slow-motion and playback for immediate feedback.  He has the ability draw/mark on the video and he can even send the video to you for future reference.

TRAIN WITH HECKLER & KOCH PISTOLS
Skill Level:
  • This class will require you to have safe gun handling skills
  • You need to be able to follow directions from our coaches
  • You need to have a basic understanding of your firearms and have used it during practice sessions.
  • Understand the 4 firearm safety rules
  • Be able to load and unload your firearm
  • You have attended a "basic" firearms safety class and have shot at least 50 rounds.
Please make note that if you do not meet these qualifications then NO WORRIES, register for our ENTRY Level Pistol Essentials class and we will get you ready for this next step.
Gear List:
  • Pistol w/holster (strong side, inside, outside waistband or appendix is fine).
  • Holsters that collapse (leather, soft, etc.) when drawn will NOT be allowed on our range. NO SERPA HOLSTERS will be allowed on our range. Please make note that if you show up with any of the above, we will ask you to CHANGE so you can comply with our range rules. If you do not have a back up gun then you can CHANGE to a HK VP9 and a strong side Kydex holster that we will provide free of charge. Ammo not included
  • You can BORROW a H&K VP9 or VP9Sk and holster from us at NO CHARGE. Please contact me immediately to reserve this H&K 9mm pistol
  • Concealment garment required.
  • 50 rounds of factory loaded ammunition (always bring 50 extra rounds to class if you can)
  • Magazine pouch (if none don’t worry pockets work well)
  • A sturdy belt for the holster and magazine pouches (try your gear on prior to class)
  • Extra magazines: Double Stack x 3 mags and Single stack x 4 or more mags
  • Eye & ear protection (foam inserts or muffs – electronic muffs recommended)
  • "Back up” gun if you got it. If not, we will have a HK VP9 waiting for you to use
  • Proper OUTDOOR weather attire
  • Hat with bill.... this is WHY!
  • Sunblock and bug spray (as needed)
  • Hydration and snack
  • OPTIONAL: Knee pads to use during after class RANGE CLEAN UP
