In this non-live fire environment The Complete Combatant will supply a BlueGun (we have SIG P938, S&W Shields, GLOCK 19 & 17, and 1911's available to borrow = will be handed out to students at random) . We will also give you an "inside the waist or outside the waist" Kydex holster to fit the BlueGun. If you already have a BlueGun and holster then please bring.
You may arrive to class with your EDC (Everyday carry) in tact. You may also choose to transport your firearm in a holster, bag or box. Whatever you choose is fine. As a class, on the line facing in a safe direction, we will remove ALL firearms and ammo. These will be placed in a secure area for the day. You will be "patted down" twice to ensure we have a "sterile" facility. At the close of the day we will basically do the same thing in reverse.
During the "dry practice" portion of class you will have the option to use your own DISABLED firearm and your own holster. We HIGHLY recommend you take advantage of this portion with your personal firearm and holster. During this Dry Practice time you will have the luxury of your own sights, trigger, holster position, etc. We will disable your firearm using a TRAINSAFE DISABLER and Tap Rack Training aid (TRT) for your magazine. You can borrow ours during class OR you can buy these two items from us at $20 (purchase) so you can continue dry practicing and training at home.
THIS CLASS REQUIRES YOU:
Bring a "sack lunch" (30 min lunch)
BlueGun with holster (bring your own or borrow ours)
Concealment garment is required
HYDRATION
Wear a good sturdy belt that supports a firearm and holster
OPTIONAL: Firearm, holster and extra mag (NO SERPA holsters and NO collapsible holsters)
TRAINSAFE Pistol Disabler and 2 TRT's (bring or borrow/buy from us)
SEASONAL: Pocket flashlight
DISCLOSURE: This is NOT a "combatives" class but there will be some physical contact. If you have any type if "weakness" or "injury" please make sure you wear an Ace Bandage, brace, etc. to protect that area during class. This should not keep you from training because "you train as you are" but YOU NEED TO BE SENSITIVE TO THIS WEAKNESS! The brace is a good reminder to all who see it. We will ask you about this prior to class as well.
OPTIONAL: Do you already have a tourniquet that you carry? Feel free to bring a tourniquet of your choice to train with. We recommend that you have 2 tourniquets. ONE to train with and ONE for emergency use. Bring your TRAINING tourniquet.
A Trainsafe Pistol Disabler/Barrel Blocker and Roger's Tap Rack Training Aid (TRT)
You can BORROW OURS or you can BUY THE DISABLER AND 2 TRTS (1 for mag in use and 1 for extra mag for mag changes and malfunction drills) from us for $20 the day of class SO YOU CAN CONTINUE TO PRACTICE DRY FIRE AT HOME! A major plus with participating in The Complete Combatant is that you get to STRESS TEST and TRAIN with your everyday carry. The trigger is familiar. The mag release is familiar. You know the “feel” of your slide. This is firearm manipulation at its finest! We use a disabler that fits into the barrel in your EDC. With this insert you can use your pistol during the Dry Practice portion of class safely and not have to use a replica or the like. We also use a TRT wedge that is designed to fit into your magazine....perfect for dry-fire and training because it will not allow your side to lock back due to empty mag.
