I recently taught an eight hour version of my HEMORRHAGE ARREST COURSE in Kennesaw GA. The course was hosted by the DYNAMIC DUO of Brian and Shelley Hill from THE COMPLETE COMBATANT and FUSION MMA. From the initial contact in regards to hosting to the day of the event itself, both Brian and Shelley were so very thorough in preparation, as well as being gracious hosts. It’s always nice to show up to an event that is essentially, “plug and play,” where I unfold my gear bag and just start talking! Brian and Shelley allowed me the opportunity to do just that, to 15 dedicated, very interested students. Brian even helped me work out some bugs with my PowerPoint presentation, which was extremely kind and useful. Their facility is very clean and well-suited at providing a realistic training environment for practical medical skills. I hope to return to FUSION MMA in the future, to teach for them again! Brian and Shelley of the Complete Combatant, hosted Point Driven Training's Blackjacks and Saps class. Brian and Shelley were amazing hosts and covered every detail leading up to the class. The experience was completely professional, from our first contact (almost a year ago), to when I left, after a successful class. The original plan was to conduct one 8 hour block of instruction. Due to demand we added a second day. The administration of the class was flawless and Brian and Shelley were a pleasure to work with. I look forward to working with them again in the future. Active Self Protection was recently hosted by Brian and Shelley Hill of the The Complete Combatant and Fusion MMA. This was a wonderful experience and we cannot recommend them enough as hosts. Shelley is truly an organizational wizard. She worked closely with us getting all of the main details hammered out BEFORE CLASS and then handled all the administrative details with ease. They worked tirelessly to make sure the class was a success for us (it was SOLD OUT), as well as our students! They provided tables, chairs and even placed candy on all the tables. Hey folks, I recently had a class hosted by Brian Hill and Shelley Hill at The Complete Combatant (aka Fusion MMA) in Marietta GA, and wanted to share with other trainers, and prospective students, what a great experience it was. To be honest, I’ve had mixed success with having classes hosted at gym facilities. Often times the space isn’t well configured for a lecture-type class of the type I do, the seating and tables aren’t really adequate, and (I hate to say it) the place can sometimes smell pretty funky. None of that was the case with Fusion MMA. The space available is large and rectangular with a big screen TV at the front of the room, and a projector screen as well. They provided more than adequate chairs and tables for the 20 or so students we had in the class. And no funky smell–the place was really spotless. I mostly dealt with Shelley on logistics leading up to the class, and she was simply a pleasure to work with. Energetic and focused, our class could not have been the success it was without her. Of course, on site both Shelley and Brian were congenial hosts, and they made absolutely certain that everything was to my liking. I know The Complete Combatant is working on a remarkably robust schedule of trainers with diverse areas of expertise to be able to offer their students the full spectrum of knowledge and skills they need to win both the physical and legal fight. Neither trainers nor prospective students should have any hesitation in working with them or attending classes there. I first became aware of The Complete Combatant due to their hosting Caleb Causey of Lone Star Medics for one of his medical courses. Caleb is a a regular presenter at the Rangemaster Tactical Conference, and that is how I met him. I attended the course, that is how I met Brian and Shelley Hill, the owners of The Complete Combatant. This introduction resulted in Brian and Shelley hosting two of my Police-Citizen Contacts courses. They have another class with Caleb coming so, be sure to check their schedule because quality medical training should be a part of your personal safety plan, and Caleb has a solid program. Another example of the classes that they are bringing in to augment their own offerings, they hosted Andrew Branca’s Law of Self Defense course. Andrew’s material is a “must” for the armed citizen. He provides valuable information that is grounded in actual statutory and case law without getting wrapped around bogeyman and interweb fantasy stories. Also of note, Brian has completed the Law of Self Defense instructor course. I have attended Andrew’s presentation at the Tactical Conference, and this was a good opportunity to get the full two-day presentation. I have purchased his book, and hope to do a stand alone review of his material at some point, but again, it is a “must”.
