NO GUN HANDLING! Arrive with your firearm bagged OR holstered. When we go down to the range you will be given the option to un-bag your unloaded gun and holster OR to remove your carry ammo from your holstered gun and then re-holster. At the end of the day....vice-versa.
At the beginning of class you will be presented with a "Course of Fire" PATCH. AFTER each level is completed you will receive a ROCKER representing each level achieved. If you need a bit more time to complete any of the first 3 skill levels, no worries, you are most welcome to attend the next scheduled Personal Performance class and earn that ROCKER with us as your guide again! After completion of the first 3 levels of the NRA Defensive Pistol I program, we invite you to continue your journey to complete the additional skill levels 4, 5 and 6 with your final goal of DISTINGUISHED EXPERT! This can be accomplished on your own (please ask us for details) or you can schedule a private session with Shelley or Brian. This is a flat rate of $125 and in our experience it will take roughly 1.5 hour to complete the remaining 3 levels. Personal Performance is a SPECIAL class offered once or twice a year that focuses on building accuracy skill sets and reaching personal goals.
When Claude Werner The Tactical Professor came up with this class idea back in 2018 we were hopeful it would give more people a chance to test their accuracy and experience some of the NRA's standards. Wow! We have had beginners through experts in this course and repeat students!! ALUMNI and INSTRUCTORS are WELCOME: YOU ARE INVITED even if you have already earned patches or are an instructor. It is a great day to strive for EXCELLENCE! CONTINUE EDUCATION to test YOUR accuracy, work on bettering your fundamentals and monitor YOUR OWN personal performance! What we did not know was that Claude had "built" this class for Shelley. He mentored her for many years (and still does) and handed over the "reigns" to this Personal Performance class in 2021. Both IRON sights and RED DOT sights are welcome in this class! This class is for ALL SKILL LEVELS from beginner through advanced. I guarantee that no matter what your current shooting experience, you will leave with "nuggets" and a PRACTICE PROGRAM to increase you PERSONAL PERFORMANCE. This NRA Defensive Pistol I class is an introduction to self-defense accuracy standards and will get you started on the path of personal performance and reaching your own marksmanship goals. We will NOT be drawing from a holster (table starts) during the ACCURACY STANDARDS part of this class WE WILL introduce you to the holster and your presentation from the holster at the END OF CLASS via DRY PRACTICE. You may BRING your own holster that fits your firearm or you may borrow a VP9 and a holster for this portion or the class, or the whole day. Your choice! You may arrive with your firearm in a bag/case/holster. Time: 10:00am-2:00pm (arrive 9:30am) Location: Dahlonega Range You will register/pay for courses online. During this class you will get a "one on one" with the coaches. They will offer a few words of wisdom that will help you improve accuracy. A BIG PLUS is that you get to work this during class! So put in your brain that you will mostly work with the SKILLS YOUR BROUGHT (ALL skill levels welcome) and will leave with a few "golden nuggets" to practice. EVERYONE will receive a STARTER PATCH and in this 3 hour firearms training class our team of coaches will walk you through the first 3 skill levels of the 6 skill level program. You will have the opportunity to complete the first, second and third level all ON THE SAME DAY and earn ROCKERS! Our Personal Performance 4 hour class is only $99 per person! Yep, you heard me...only $99! NO EXCUSES.....PRACTICE! There have been times that we run a few minutes late because Brian and I like to work “one on one” with each of you.
