The Mingle: Openness to Experience, The personality trait that best reflects the lay concept of open-mindedness is called “openness to experience,” or simply “openness.” Open people tend to be intellectually curious, creative and imaginative.

Being open-minded is generally considered a positive quality. It is a necessary ability in order to think critically and rationally. If you are not open to other ideas and perspectives, it is difficult to see all of the factors that contribute to problems or come up with effective solutions.
The Mingle dedicates every event to all the ladies that come with an openness to experience.

The Mingle 2023 will be held at the Pickens County Sportsman's Club (click here for club info, ranges, towns to stay in, etc.) in the beautiful North GA Mountains. We are looking forward 2 full days and running 2 live fire classes and 1 classroom presentation AT THE SAME TIME. We will "round robin" it and everyone will get to train in each 3 hour block! WHOOOOT!  Our sponsors are still covering half of your registration fees so it will ONLY BE $270 per person for the entire weekend!! We will provide lunch, snacks and water.  Oh, they are also covering all range fees and ammo to shoot during the HK live fire block !

The Mingle 2023 will be held in the beautiful North Georgia Mountains at the Pickens County Sportsmans Club. HUGE HUGE thank you to Steve, Chris, and the PCSC Board for making this happen!

PCSC is located in Talking Rock, GA (Jasper address) and is an OUTSTANDING facility with kind, generous and helpful Board and members.

Check out the layout. We will be occupying 3 ranges, the clubhouse (classroom for PHLster), and a separate area for THE MINGLE! We will have 2 designated parking areas, covered areas on each range, 2 bathrooms with indoor plumbing, 2 - 3 port-a-pottys, and so much more!

​Please make note that each block/range will already have a medical protocol, primary and secondary medical responders, and transport vehicles in place. Review TM23 Training Blocks for details.

The Mingle 2023 Projected Schedule

Saturday, May 20, 2023
  • Arrive 8:00am to get parked (designated area "A") and then head to the designated area "B" to get registered, get your free raffle tickets, name tag and your weekend training schedule. .
  • EVERYONE needs to be at the designated area "B" BY 8:30am for opening statements, medical response plan, and safety protocols.  You MUST be registered by then and present for the morning meeting or you will not be able to participate in any live fire blocks. 
  • 9:45am - 12:45pm 3 hour training block
  • 12:45pm-2:00pm EVERYONE  needs to go to the designated area "B" to grab their lunch
LUNCH: Ordered turkey, ham and chicken salad wraps, chips, sweet tea, non-sweet tea and cookies from The Lunch Box. If you have food restrictions, please bring your own lunch. Thank you.
  • Report to your training block
  • 2:15pm - 5:15pm 3 hour training block
  • 5:30pm-6:00pm EVERYONE needs to be at the designated area "B" for The Mingle's Day 1 closing statements and announcements 
  • Day 1 can run as late as 6:30pm

  • THE MINGLING BEGINS!!! 1:00pm EVERYONE needs to be at the designated area "B". Training blocks are over and MINGLING begins! We have asked Corky Hamilton's best friend, Maggie Frazier to read The Mingle's MISSION STATEMENT to jump start MINGELING! We will have lunch, networking, door prizes, HK firearm giveaway, SWAG bags and MORE! 
LUNCH: BIGUN'S BBQ: Pulled pork, chopped chicken, mac and cheese, green beans, coleslaw, rolls, corn bread, drinks, and desserts.  If you have food restrictions, please bring your own lunch. Thank you.

THE HAMILTON SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

WHY & WHAT: Each year we feel more and more blessed by The Mingle. The people that attend, coach, instruct, AI, RSO and volunteer are the best of the best. The companies that sponsor our event are very generous and ask for so little in return. We would like to THANK our awesome monetary sponsors via The Hamilton Scholarship program. It is because of THEM that we can offer such a quality and unique weekend for ladies in the firearms/self defense industry. As a small token of our thanks, we dedicate The Hamilton Scholarship program to our monetary sponsors. 

​WHO? 
On Sunday, October 16th, 2022 I lost a dear dear friend to a stroke, Joan (Corky) Hamilton. Corky was known, and loved, for many different things. She was a shooter, a teacher, a competitor, a Federal Agent, a student, an influencer, care taker, dog lover, an Olympic athlete, a giver, a helper, a mentor, a constant flow of positive energy and a friend. She was a HUGE Mingle supporter and attend the all but the first year. I think she was the "voice" of The Mingle as much as I was. Please watch the short video and consider reading her obituary...she was a Police Olympic GOLD Medalist, Federal Agent, Federal Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor, US Forest Service, a voice for The Mingle to help more women with self protection education, active member at her church, and so much more! These 2 things will give you a glimpse into who Corky was....

To me, she was all of those wrapped up in someone that made my life better. She was in my super small circle of trusted humans and I will miss her more than words can say. Corky and I had many adventures together over the last 7 years but the grandest of all was just having lunch with a dear friend....damn did we laugh!

The Hamilton Scholarship program has been put in place to offer one special lady a spot at The Mingle for FREE! Thank you dear friend for being a part of The Mingle, and my life, for so many years.

HOW: 
  • We are going to step outside the box and offer a scholarship (free) spot to one lucky lady that is, or is not, in the firearms/self defense industry.
  •  A Mingle registered guest can nominate ONE family member, friend, peer, etc. 
  • April 4th- April 20th we ask that our Mingle's registered guests to go to The Mingle's private FB Group (make sure you post in the current Mingle year) and nominate a peer that you would like to attend AT NO CHARGE to them.
  • NOMINEE INFO TO PROVIDE: Please provide any info that you think would be important to know about this person and most important.....WHY you think they will benefit from attending The Mingle. 
  • Your nominee MUST meet The Mingle's Skill Level requirements:
  1. The Mingle will require them to have safe gun handling skills
  2. They need to be able to follow directions from our coaches
  3. They need to have experience working from a holster​
  4. We run a "hot" range and follow guidelines based from Jeff Cooper's 4 rules of gun safety aka lifestyle rules 
  • The person you nominate needs to know that you are entering their name and be prepared to attend TM if they win.
  • We will have a few Team Mingle ladies decide who the winner of TM scholarship will be. They will actually pick 3 people and will give the names to me based on top pick, second pick and third pick. We will do this in case the top pick can't make it. I will help organize but I will not have any vote on who receives this gift. After Team Mingle tells me who they choose, I will jump in again with admin duties.
  • On April 21st I will announce the winner in the private FB Group
  • Once the winner is confirmed, I will announce on all public social media outlets
